La suggestiva veduta di campagna toscana qui presentata faceva parte, insieme ad altre sessantasei, dell'album appartenuto a Sir Horace Mann, ambasciatore inglese a Firenze dal 1740 al 1768, apparso sul mercato antiquario nel 1979 (Londra, Sotheby's, 11 luglio 1979, cat. ill. Drawings of views of Rome, Florence and elsewhere by Giuseppe Zocchi (Florence 1711 - 1767): the property of Mrs. D. Herbert of South Africa). La raccolta recava il titolo "Vedute e disegni di Giuseppe Zocchi" e l'annotazione "This is only record of the Artist Gius.e Zocchi, The Drawings were made for the first sir Horatio Mann (while Envoy in Florence) in 1764...".
Il disegno offerto è l'unico firmato del gruppo.
