RARE BRITISH ROADSTER IN PERFECT CONDITIONS
From 1952, Triumph produced a number of small and sporty two-seater roadsters such as the TR1, TR2 and TR3. Then in 1961 came -you guessed it- the TR4 which was a completely new motor car, later to evolve with the TR5 and TR6.
The TR4 had been designed by Giovanni Michelotti, and was more spacious and practical, having much better weather protection.
In 1965 the TR4A IRS was launched, with a new indipendent rear suspension: and a very good example of these is here to be auctioned today. Imported when new by Ducati Meccanica, it is one of very few Triumphs with a Ducati badge: the perfect roadster for a Ducati rider!
This particular TR4 has been owned for many years by the vendor, who fastidiously maintained it in impeccable order. It also has the additional advantage of having a “Surrey Top” – an accessory available at the time which offers four different top configurations.
It comes with plenty of paperwork documenting the maintenance work it received over the years, and has a coveted ASI homologation.
The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
