Pandolfini is pleased to announce the next Modern and Contemporary Art Auction. Clients will find works by various international and Italian artists from the very beginning of the twentieth century up to nowadays: paintings, sculptures, drawings and multiples from private collections, unpublished and an exceptional selection of artworks.

This sale will showcase a stellar line-up of several Nature Morte by Carrà, Carena, X. Bueno, De Chirico, De Pisis, Guttuso, Ligabue, Morandi, Severini, Soldati, and Tomea.

In addition to the Carrà’s still life, an exquisite Marina from the 1950s will be presented, valued € 20,000 / 30,000. Back to the late 1920s we can find a canvas realized by the great artist TATO, 94.5x96.5 cm, notably exhibited at the III Mostra d'Arte Marinara in 1929 at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, estimate € 15,000 / 20,000. The sale features other exceptional artworks by Giorgio De Chirico, like the amazing still life and a multi-published Self-portrait from the 1940 valued € 20,000 / 30,000. Painted in 1911 "Model dancing in the studio" is an elegant work by Mario Cavaglieri, estimated € 8,000 / 12,000. The Modern and Contemporary highlights include a great assemblage of works by various artists such as Alviani, Angeli, A. Bueno, Corpora, Crippa, De Chirico, Dorazio, Dova, Emblem, Festa, Fioroni, Guttuso, Marasco, Paladino, Rotella, Scanavino, Sironi, Schifano, Turcato and many more.

Speaking internationally, we are glad to present a drawing by Paul Klee from 1928 evaluated € 25,000 / 40,000. Alongside exceptional works by artists such as Masson, Tapies, Mirò, Shimamoto, Tobey, Chillida, B. Pepper, K. Rozhdestvensky, R.Schilichter and an excellent oil on canvas by Anton Rooskens, 1971, 100x80 cm (estimate € 3.500 / 5.000) will be displayed.

Our summer auction is also led by remarkable sculptural works ranging from the 1920s to the contemporary: a unique and refined terracotta by Marino Marini from 1929-1930 and then other superb sculptures by Artuno Martini, Mitoraj, but also a significant work by Agenore Fabbri "Maternity" from the 1950s which was part of the collection of Giuseppe Verzocchi, a well-known patron and art collector. Fresh to the market, a series of sculptures by Stefano Bombardieri and the aforementioned Beverly Pepper with an aluminum work h. 185 cm valuated € 8.000 / 12.000.

A whole section is dedicated to Pop Art with international works by Andy Warhol,ranging from iconographic Marilyn to self-portraits, from Mao to Keith Haring to Mickey Mouse, as well as the inevitable Love by Robert Indiana. Besides, coming from the Italian scene, a wide selection of artworks by Schifano, Angeli and Festa.

From the photography’s scene we are glad to present three contemporary international photographers: Jon Rafman, Guy Tillim and Luca Catalano Gonzaga, the latter with an amazing and large triptych dedicated to Rome by Night. The sale features other contemporary works by Crash and an elegant canvas by Yin Wantao.
