Romolo Grassi began his goldsmith business as a child, following the teachings of his father Luigi.

He participated in numerous national and international competitions, winning various prizes, including the one held by the first Milan Triennale among all the Italian goldsmith schools. In the following decades he completed his professional training and was able to gain a solid international reputation, drawing inspiration from the models of Alfredo Ravasco, the sculptor Adolfo Wildt and more generally from the experiences of Art Déco. Its original combined great technical accuracy with the elegant refinement of lines and colors, with daring and unprecedented combinations of metals and precious stones.

"To think is not tolose oneself in dreams, it is to go beyond thenarrow horizons of our daily life and - when I am allowed to think in serenity - I see men in peace among themselves in a better world."
