The Patek Philippe Nautilus is one of the most sought after sports and elegant watches by collectors around the world, born in 1976, from the mind of the brilliant master watchmaker Gerald Genta.
Its peculiar design was probably inspired by the shape of the portholes of the Nautilus, the fantastic submarine that accompanies the adventures of Captain Nemo, the famous character of Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Seas, one of the greatest novels of Jules Verne, first published in 1870.
The first Nautilus, defined Jumbo for its size (42 mm wide) and waterproof up to 60 meters, was a sporty but elegant watch, decidedly robust and waterproof thanks to a particularly refined construction and made of steel. Its inimitable design still makes it one of the most important investment timepieces on the national and international market.
