Bio
Carsten Höller (Brussels, 1961) German by origin lives and works in Stockholm. Established in the art world in the Nineties, he has been exhibited in important international institutions with numerous solo and group exhibitions. Höller conceives art as a cognitive tool and uses his works to transform the sensory and emotional experience of individuals. He loves to disorient and provoke the viewer, altering traditional mechanisms. At first glance, the characteristic of his works is the ironic and playful aspect, but behind the innocent appearance, Höller insinuates elements of doubt and uncertainty, capable of changing the ordinary perception of things. He creates situations or experiences that invite the audience to actively participate.
