Joseph-Etienne Blerzy (active 1750-1806), began as an apprentice of François-Joachim Aubert in 1750. He received the title of Master Goldsmith in 1768, with the hallmark "JEB". It was established on the Pont au Change under the sign "à la ville de Leipzig" until 1785.

Its production is renowned for the quality of its jewels and its gold boxes, which were distinguished by the refinement of their translucent enamels on guilloché gold surfaces.

The Louvre Museum kept in its collections thirteen snuffboxes of the master; seven boxes are kept in the Cognacq-Jay Museum and others in various public and private collections too.
