With Spotlight Design , which will be held on May 9, Pandolfini begins a new cycle of auctions dedicated to excellence and refinement, about 150 extremely selected lots among great rarities and realizations of the highest quality. On offer will be, among others, a Proust armchair made and signed by Alessandro Mendini in 1998 in impeccable condition, an Iride lamp by Ico and Luisa Parisi produced for Lamperti, several pieces of furniture by Mario Ceroli marked Poltronova including a sofa and three thrones, and a lamp-sculpture by Julio Le Parc made by Dino Gavina's Duchamp Center. Also brought together for the first time will be the entire sculptural group of Monozoo seating by Andrea Salvetti and furniture made by Lapo Binazzi (UFO Group) in 1978 for a Florentine setting. Some furnishings and several extraordinary porcelains signed by Gio Ponti including a very rare Ostiense bowl and a lamp base from the Mappamondi series; a large collection of furnishings and accessories designed by Ettore Sottsass, including a Superbox cabinet and an Ultrafragola mirror, a Liana bookcase and eight model S12 chairs from 1958. Plus glassware by Carlo Scarpa, Paolo Venini and Seguso, ceramics by Bruno Gambone and Guido Gambone, furniture by Paolo Buffa, Mario Quarti, Osvaldo Borsani, Gaetano Pesce, Angelo Mangiarotti and many other excellences of 20th-century design.
