The auction of Old Master Paintings will offer an accurate catalog of works from the 14th to the 18th century.
Among the oldest are a small ancona by the Florentine Cenni di Francesco (Madonna Enthroned with Child among Angels and Saints) and a small panel with a story of St. Margaret of Antioch by the Bolognese Jacopo di Paolo. The series of Felice Brusasorzi's Twelve Caesars is also veri interesting because of its documented provenance from an ancient Veronese collection: loosely inspired by Titian's well-known series but enriched with motifs from imperial coinage, they will be offered in four groups of three. The highly refined panel by Giovan Battista Ramenghi, known as Bagnacavallo with Christ Resurrected with Saint Catherine also belongs to the 16th century, but in this case Bolognese. Moving on to the 18th century, there are the splendid Erminia among the Shepherds by Francesco Solimena and a pair of sketches by Bernardino Nocchi for the decoration of a room in Cardinal Stoppani's Roman palace are a must. It concludes with an international touch given by the Portrait of Francesco Del Medico painted in London by Giovan Battista Cipriani, among the most successful artists in London in the 18th century and co-founder of the prestigious Royal Academy.
