Antiques with a capital A are back in the spotlight at Pandolfini on the occasion of the now customary autumn auction. On the wave of the excellent results of the auction held at the beginning of 2023, the Furnishing and Art Objects department proposes an interesting and rich catalogue entirely dedicated to furniture and furnishing accessories, also this time built around some homogeneous units coming from as many private properties.

The first part of the catalogue will focus on interesting "high period" furniture, evidence of a taste that seemed to belong to other times and that instead seems to have come back to the present day.
Among them, for example, we would like to point out a beautiful Tuscan sideboard, a pair of Renaissance stools, chests and small chests, as well as ivory and wood carvings, accompanied by some interesting tapestries. This is followed by a session devoted to central-southern Italy, including a rare double-bodied cabinet, entirely painted on a red background with light-coloured reserves decorated with pastille reliefs and embellished with gilded wood carvings, a typical piece of furniture in the Sicilian taste of the mid 18th century. And to close, the Venetian-style furniture from an important Milanese residence, with a balanced alternation of lacquer and gilding together with briar and solid wood furniture.

In addition to Tuscan and Lombard furniture, there is an important Genoese cabinet from the Louis XIV period with the cardinal's coat of arms of the Durazzo family and a beautiful pair of Roman consoles in carved and gilded wood with rare marble tops.
