L'idea dell'orologio Gefica, opera del maestro Gerald Genta, nacque nella savana africana dalla mente di tre cacciatori europei che in quella occasione discussero su quale fosse per loro l'orologio più idoneo in relazione all'attività che svolgevano nel loro ambiente.

I tre cacciatori erano Geoffroy, Fissore e Canali i quali dettero il nome all'orologio con le prime iniziali del loro nome.

L'impiego del bronzo come materiale per la cassa fu scelto per la sua qualità, rifletteva la luce e non spaventava gli animali, inoltre il suo colore caldo ricordava il paesaggio africano e la natura aspra della caccia.

The idea of the Gefica watch, the work of the master Gerald Genta, was born in the African savannah from the mind of three European hunters which discussed on that occasion which was for them the most suitable watch in relation to the activity they carried out in their environment.

The three hunters were Geoffroy, Fissore and Canali who named the clock with the first initials of their name.

The use of bronze as material for the case was chosen for its quality, reflected light and did not frighten animals, also its warm color reminded the African landscape and the harsh nature of hunting.
